2020 was a memorable year, to say the least. While I don’t want to dwell too much on how the pandemic has affected us all, I will say that working remotely and not having to commute did perhaps give me a little bit more time to blog this year. And from what I could gather by connecting with others over social media, it also encouraged many people to (re)discover their love for mystery shows such as Murder, She Wrote. For this, and many other reasons, this was a big year for this blog.
In January of this year is when I made the decision to take this website in a particular direction: that of a website specifically devoted to TV detective series. (This is in addition to a website about Murder, She Wrote; but in contrast to a website about mysteries in general.) In May of this year, I set about developing the TV Detective Database, and it currently offers an at-a-glance listing of all American detective shows ever made. In 2021, my goal is to expand that with more information about British detective series.
This past year was also a big year for the Murder, She Wrote portion of the website. In the latter half of the year, I published several posts that answered some of the most common questions that fans of the show have:
- Just how big is Jessica Fletcher’s family tree?
- Which Murder, She Wrote episodes should I watch on St. Patrick’s day?
- Which episodes should I watch on Halloween?
- Which episodes should I watch at Christmas?
This was also a big year for my social media. I started off this year with just 273 likes on my Facebook page on January 1st 2020. Thanks to the many fan groups and super engaged fans on Facebook, this has now ballooned to almost 1000 likes and over 1000 followers. Additionally, although I’m a bit less active and promotional on my Twitter account, that is where I’ve been hosting weekly tweet-alongs to one Murder, She Wrote episode every Monday at 7pm EST (in addition to joining in on some of the other mystery-themed tweet-alongs).
Thank you to everyone who reads my blog! I’m still absolutely thrilled by how many people like my posts and to have connected with so many other fans through this.
Hope you all have a wonderful 2021! 🕵️
