Best and worst of Murder, She Wrote Season 5

Just as I did for Season 4, I wanted to find out what fans think is the best (and worst) of Murder, She Wrote‘s season 5 episodes set in Cabot Cove.

I tried various ways of collecting this data through social media, but found the different poll functions to be too limiting. So instead, I decided to set up a survey using Google Forms.

[Updated on August 5th 2020 with survey results]

The survey is now officially closed and I’ve tabulated the results below. However, if you really want to submit your vote, you can still do so by following this link: https://forms.gle/tjDsFsddL5pNv4Hx9. I will be checking the results periodically and may update this page if the ranking changes significantly.

Over the span of 10 days (between July 27th 2020 and August 5th 2020), there were 38 Murder, She Wrote fans that took part in the survey. They were asked to rank the five Season 5 episodes/stories set in Cabot Cove from 1 (best) to 5 (worst). According to their votes, the following ranking emerged:

  1. Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall” (episodes 21&22) — average score: 2.2
  2. The Sins of Castle Cove” (episode 17) — average score: 2.3
  3. Mr. Penroy’s Vacation” (episode 3) — average score: 2.7
  4. Fire Burn, Cauldron Bubble” (episode 13) — average score: 3.6
  5. Weave a Tangled Web” (episode 10) — average score: 4.1

Complete details of the survey responses are summarized in the graph below. The bars represent how many people gave a particular ranking to each episode.

Admittedly, it was a very close race between “Mirror, Mirror, On The Wall” and “The Sins of Castle Cove” for the #1 spot. However, it was much more clear throughout collecting survey responses that “Weave A Tangled Web” would be in last place.

Thanks to everyone who took part in the survey!
